Today, we had our design review presentation! After getting initial feedback, we realized that with the short semester that we have and the aggressive deadline, we still might not be able to produce all 7 molds to complete the entire design. As an alternative, we spent some time together to simplify the design so that our design can ultimately adhere to all the requirements expected of us by mid-November before the semester goes fully remote!
So far, we are settled on making the ice feature, the imitation metal mouth band, and the top and bottom base of the yoyo (which is going to be the same design for further simplifications). In doing so, we have cut down from 7 mold design sets to 3 mold design sets!
We're going to aim to finalize the dimensions and design of the ice feature for our yoyo so that we can produce all the ice pieces and also generate the g-codes and machine the molds for the metal band and base part this upcoming week!
Unfortunately, our SLA print did break so we had to spend another 9+ hours to print another one.
